PAUL FRAZEL

GRADUATE STUDENT

paul.frazel@nyulangone.org | @SciPaulie

Paul studied Biology and Philosophy at Dartmouth College as an undergraduate, receiving departmental awards in each area. His biology honors thesis queried the role of PTEN loss in autism spectrum disorder, with Dr. Bryan Luikart at the Geisel School of Medicine. After college, Paul worked as a technician in Dr. Marc Tessier-Lavigne’s laboratory at Rockefeller University and Stanford University. Paul’s efforts as a tech spanned a series of stem cell, development and neurodegeneration projects.

As a graduate student in the Neuroscience and Physiology program at NYU Med, Paul is helping develop novel genetic systems for modeling astrocyte-related Alzheimer’s Disease mutations in vitro.

Paul is also a REC Junior Scholar with the NIH-funded Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) at NYULMC's Center for Cognitive Neurology. He also works closely with The Center for Synthetic Regulatory Genomics (SyRGe) an NIH-funded Center of Excellence in Genomic Science.
